Job Introduction

  • Full time 36 hours per week

  • This is a fixed term appointment until the end of the academic year ending August 2026, in the first instance.

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join the team within Tooting Primary School’s ASD Resource Base, The Discovery Zone. The Discovery Zone is comprised of three classes and is the educational provision for 24 pupils, each with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The Discovery Zone has newly installed Sensory Rooms, a therapy room and ‘breakout’ space for pupils. The post holder will work within one of 3 classes with 8 children per class.

The children within the base each have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) maintained by Wandsworth Local Authority. Pupils access a broad and balanced curriculum, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) in line with their EHCP Provision. The successful candidate will benefit from a robust CPD package within the LA and internally, to support them in contributing to provision and support for pupils.
