We are looking for an exceptional teacher to join our team in the Department of Philosophy and Theology. Both subjects are extremely popular, and all members of the team are active in leading pedagogical developments across the school; the Head of Department is also a Lead Practitioner. We seek candidates with excellent subject knowledge, a commitment to innovative teaching, and a passion for their discipline. Experienced teachers and ECTs are welcome to apply.
All of our students study Philosophy and Theology in KS3; we have a popular lunchtime Philosophy Club and offer the School Certificate in Philosophy to students in year 9. At KS4, all students study the full course GCSE and achieve outstanding results; we also have a thriving Debating Society. At A Level, the Department offers both Philosophy and Religious Studies as discrete disciplines, and we aim to build on the increasing popularity of these two subjects and the excellent results students enjoy.
We are a team of 6, and this is an opportunity to join a lively, outstanding, supportive department with a highly successful academic record. All team members are well qualified and enthusiastic, placing a strong emphasis on the positive relationships we enjoy with our students. The Department shares a superb brand new building with top-of-the-range facilities with the Geography Department.

The successful candidate will need to be a dynamic, outstanding teacher who brings vision and creativity to this post to ensure that Philosophy and Theology continue to flourish within a changing curriculum.
Our standard loading factor is 22/26. Where a teacher's timetable comprises less than 22 teaching periods, postholders will be required to cover other classes.
