Job Introduction
This role is funded until the end of the academic year. However, we anticipate that the funding will be extended for another academic year, in the first instance.
Due to increasing demand for support for students experiencing emotionally based school non-attendance, the Wandsworth Hospital and Home Tuition Service (HHTS) is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced professional to join our creative, supportive, and enthusiastic team. This post forms part of a successfully running project that is already underway, focusing primarily on outreach work with students facing significant challenges in attending school due to emotionally based school non-attendance.
The Reintegration Lead will be hosted by the Home and Hospital Tuition Service (HHTS) and will draw on a range of existing support within HHTS and the local authority to provide a multi-agency response.
We are looking for an experienced professional who will bring enthusiasm and innovation to the role and will enjoy working collaboratively as part of our wider team. Knowledge of SEN is key. The role would suit a dynamic candidate who has had experience of supporting students/young people and has a passion for reaching hard-to-reach young people and communities. It would also suit a candidate who has experience of leading and developing initiatives to engage young people and is able to self-lead. The role will require liaison with multidisciplinary teams and school leaders and as such will require excellent communication skills.
About The School
HHTS is a Hospital School and Medical Pupil Referral Unit that provides education for a diverse range of students aged 5-18 who are experiencing a severe or chronic illness and/or have mental health issues. HHTS encompasses St George’s Hospital, CAMHS School, Community Education, Mental Health Outreach and Corner House; the National Deaf CAMHS inpatient unit.
You will be willing to work flexibly with vulnerable learners in a rewarding, supportive and creative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading a service with excellent practice and high-quality outcomes for the CYP.
We offer:
- The opportunity to work in a unique, dynamic, successful and forward-facing service; supported by talented, committed and conscientious colleagues.
- An excellent environment in which to further develop your skills with innovative opportunities for personalised professional development.
- A service that carefully considers the life/work balance of its team; we understand that happy healthy staff will achieve the best outcomes for our learners.
We welcome applicants who have the following:
- Expertise in developing and delivering multi-agency strategies in education or social care settings.
- Significant experience in schools and/or advisory support for schools and families.
- The ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at a senior level (schools, health, other agencies and parents).
- Experience of working directly with students with mental health and SEN needs would be of added benefit.
Closing date: 20 March 2026 (9am)
Interviews will be held on: Thursday 26 March
