An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Pension Officer. If you are looking for a challenge or change of role and have proven attention to detail, are customer focused, numerate and have a track record of producing accurate work this may be the role for you.

In this role, you will provide accurate calculations. You will engage with scheme members and employers in person, by telephone, email and letter. Your contribution to our team will help to provide a first class service to members. This is a very exciting phase for our service as we transform through expanding our staffing resources, greater use of automation and emphasis on people development. About the role: The Pensions Shared Service, based in Wandsworth, runs the administration of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) for five London boroughs: Camden, Merton, Richmond, Waltham Forest and Wandsworth. We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven professional who can combine technical accuracy with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with complex data, managing payroll processes, and supporting projects that improve service delivery.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Highly numerate, with the proven ability to incorporate complex rules into calculations
  • Able to determine your own work priorities and manage conflicting demands appropriately
  • Able to recognise when a process or policy is not working as effectively as it could and make suggestions as to how it could be improved
  • Communicate well with a range of audiences including colleagues, Human Resources, Payroll, schools and external employers representatives
  • Proficient IT skills with the major Microsoft packages
