Job Introduction

KS1 or KS2 Teacher, full-time - permanent. Required to start from September 2026.

We are a successful Catholic Federation of two primary schools: Sacred Heart RC Primary School (Battersea) and St Mary’s RC Primary School (Battersea). Sacred Heart is a thriving, inclusive, two-form entry school with an ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) Base, located just a short walk from Clapham Junction train station. A practising Catholic is preferred; however, applications from candidates who are supportive of our Catholic ethos are warmly welcomed.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, outstanding teacher to join Sacred Heart School. The successful candidate will motivate, challenge, support and inspire our students and also have relevant experience in teaching phonics. Applications from ECTs are welcome, as are applications from experienced staff.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a passionate and effective classroom practitioner;

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the national curriculum and assessment strategies;
  • Create a stimulating and engaging learning environment that fosters curiosity and creativity;
  • Be skilled in planning and delivering lessons that meet the diverse needs of all children, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and challenging;
  • Be able to provide personalised learning for children with additional needs;
  • Be an inclusive practitioner;
  • Have experience of teaching phonics successfully (preferably Little Wandle);
  • Be a reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development and improvement;
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support children's learning and development;
  • Be a collaborative, committed team player with a sense of humour, creativity, and energy;
  • Have the ability to build strong relationships with parents and across the Federation;
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities and school events.
