We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to assist with general food preparation and have experience and basic knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation skills. Responsible to the Chef, duties will include washing dishes over lunch time, assisting the kitchen team to deliver lunch time service and general kitchen cleaning duties.

The Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Smallwood Primary School should be someone who is motivated by helping others, patient and resilient, as this would be perfect for this role.

Smallwood Primary School is a vibrant, creative and ambitious school located in Tooting, London. We are partnered with Chefs in Schools to transform our catering and develop our food culture. We have refreshed our menus, with everything cooked from scratch to give our pupils fresh, nutritious and creative lunches.

We recognise that food is a vital part of the school day and has a significant impact on the health and wellbeing of our pupils. We believe that food education is a vital part of the curriculum and that the school kitchen has a key role to play in promoting it.
