Children’s Residential Support WorkerJob IntroductionResidential Support Workers£28,224 – £34,200 per annum (pro rata for part time staff)Permanent and Casual OpportunitiesFull Time and Part TimeWandsworthOfsted rating: ‘Good’Full-time, part time (with option of additional hours) and casual opportunities are available.Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with disabilities and want to make a difference to their everyday life by ensuring high quality care is provided?Oakdene Short Break and Chestnut Long-stay services provide residential care for children and young people aged 5-18 years who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. Some of our children and young people exhibit challenging behaviours whilst others may have high medical needs.Can you join our team and bring your enthusiastic, energetic and patient personality to help our children and young people to thrive?About the roleAs a Residential Worker, you will fulfil a range of responsibilities, subject to skills and experience.Key Worker: You will be taking the responsibility of being a key worker for children and young people in residence.Creativity: You will develop programmes and create warm and stimulating experiences for children and young people, for example out of unit activities such as holidays.Preparation: Plan, prepare and facilitate group work with a mix of age and ability and carry out agreed plans.Flexibility / Shift Work: You will be working two out of three weekends whether full-time or part time based on the rota.Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience You will need to have a recognised qualification such as a Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent). Recent experience of working in a childcare environment with the ability to work weekends. Good observations and assessments skills with the ability to understand and enjoy challenge. Dedication to providing a safe stimulating environment for children are essential qualities required.
