Full‑time position at Teddington Sports Centre (TW11 9PJ). Salary: SO2 level, £37,602 per annum, progression up to £45,564 per annum.

Where you’ll be working: Teddington Sports Centre, Teddington School, Broom Road, Teddington TW11 9PJ. Facilities include multi‑purpose sports hall, tennis courts, all‑weather pitch, squash courts, studios, multi‑use games area and beach volleyball courts. Centre is open to the public weekdays 5pm‑10pm and weekends 9am‑6pm. You will work 36 hours per week on a rota, including daytime, evening and weekend shifts.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage the Borough’s dual‑use sports centre and work with internal and external partners to improve facilities.
  • Develop and run comprehensive adult and junior programmes in line with the Council’s Sport and Leisure Strategy.
  • Supervise a team of permanent staff and a pool of casual staff, develop staff through meetings, appraisals and 1‑2‑1s.
  • Oversee programming, finance, health & safety, marketing, quality assurance, facility development and staff management.
  • Act as Duty Manager when required and assist with day‑to‑day operations.

What we need from you:

  • Suitable sport, leisure, recreation or related management qualification.
  • First Aid qualified.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Significant prior experience as a manager within a leisure/fitness environment.
  • Knowledge of operating a sports and fitness centre, health & safety procedures, and understanding of diversity and equality provision.

  • The SO2 level role starts at £37,602 per annum, progressing to up to £45,564 per annum.
