About the Role

Senior Business Support Officer. Β£35,391 – Β£45,564 per annum. Permanent, Full Time (36 hours). Wandsworth, London. Hybrid working (at least 1 day per week in office).

We are seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join our Children\’s Services Business Support service, providing support with invoicing, budget monitoring, training and purchasing to the Schools and Community Psychology Service (SCPS) and the SEND and Inclusion services. You will manage a small team of 3 Business Support Officers who provide admin support such as inbox monitoring, meeting support and data entry for the supported teams. You will have staff responsibility including supervision, mentoring, task allocations and onboarding of new staff, and you will work collaboratively with other teams and support other services as required to provide cover.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Service Leads and the services you support to ensure robust support, capacity planning, and service requests.
  • Manage document systems (SharePoint folders and filing) and provide data analysis for the supported services.
  • Oversee service inboxes and handle inquiries promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and manage systems to track SCPS work allocations and process referrals into the service, maintaining an efficient tracking database.
  • Manage budget forecasting and track financial transactions; follow up as required.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in staff management with the ability to work on own initiative and provide cover to the Team Manager during their absence.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to provide IT support and guidance to new team members.
  • Understanding of GDPR, confidentiality and safeguarding Children and Young People.
  • Willingness to learn other team members’ areas of work to cover other areas as deemed necessary by the line manager.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with senior council officers, health professionals, partner agencies and service users independently.
  • Ability to manage competing demands through planning and prioritisation to meet deadlines.
