Assistant Finance and Business Development Manager

Salary: £38,976 – £49,365 per annum. Permanent full‑time (36 hrs), hybrid working with one day a week in the office. Location: Wandsworth, London.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a full‑time permanent Assistant Finance and Business Development Manager for the Design Service. This role is part of a team working to create a ground‑breaking shared staffing structure across the London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth.

The Design Service is an in‑house, fee‑earning multi‑disciplinary consultancy service covering a full range of construction professional services and delivers projects across the public realm and the expanding Council’s housing self‑build programme.

This position presents an opportunity for an experienced and customer‑focused professional to make a difference in a forward‑looking and commercially minded Council.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare invoices and make fee claims using the financial and resource management software.
  • Compile and submit fee bids, assist the management team in preparing marketing and publicity information, and monitor and assist in the preparation of templates and strategies ensuring they are correct and up to date.
  • Evaluate existing working practices and develop complex databases, spreadsheets and templates and streamline processes, including administering the financial and project management software.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of using financial and resource management software.
  • Excellent numerical and statistical skills.
  • Skilled at evaluating information and understanding processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
