The predicted salary is between 33500 - 40000 £ per year.

The role is a permanent part-time position based in Wandsworth, London, with a salary of £38,976 – £47,229 per annum (pro rata). The role requires attendance at 32 meetings per year, predominantly in the evenings.

This is a key role providing professional clerking services to governing boards across our schools, ensuring effective governance and compliance with statutory requirements.

About the Role

  • Prepare agendas and distribute papers in advance of meetings.
  • Attend governing board meetings (including evenings and early mornings) and produce accurate minutes.
  • Advise on governance legislation, procedural matters and conflicts of interest.
  • Maintain membership records and support the appointment/election process.
  • Ensure statutory policies and documentation are up to date and accessible.
  • Provide guidance and support to governors, including new members.
  • Promote a culture of challenge and continuous improvement within boards.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Experience in record keeping, data management and minute-taking.
  • Knowledge of school governance procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Willingness to attend training, including the NGA Clerks Programme.

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to attend meetings outside standard working hours.
  • Ability to travel to school sites as required.
  • Reliable IT access for remote working (equipment provided).
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting equality and inclusion.
