Overview
Full Time – 2-year Fixed Term Contract (with the possibility of extension subject to funding). Employment Specialist (SEQF) x2 and Employment Specialist (IPS) x3. Work Redbridge, the Council\’s employment support and job brokerage service, is seeking Employment Specialists to deliver the Connect to Work programme in Redbridge. Connect to Work is a voluntary Supported Employment programme funded by the UK Government, as part of the Get Britain Working strategy.
This is an exciting time as we grow the team. We are seeking Employment Specialists who are passionate about helping others and who can make a genuine difference to people’s lives by supporting vulnerable adults with health, mental health and disabilities to thrive and find meaningful job opportunities or sustain their employment.
As an Employment Specialist, you will be guided by the fidelity principles of Individual Placement Support (IPS) or Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and support a small caseload of clients with holistic and personalised employment placement experience. We are looking for employment specialists who have delivered supported employment within services or co-located teams such as: NHS, Health, Mental health, Adult Social services, Drug & Alcohol, Homelessness, Domestic Abuse, Refugee & Asylum, SEND and Leaving Care.
You will have excellent motivational, communication, and attentive listening skills to build positive rapport with clients. You will also be non-judgmental, trustworthy, and empathetic towards disability, health and mental health support needs.
The role will promote economic well-being, tackle in-work poverty and reduce dependency on public sector resources, and you will work collaboratively across Work Redbridge partners, including co-location with wider Council teams, Health, and Community & voluntary sector organisations, to identify suitable residents and support them into sustainable employment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the Connect to Work programme as part of Work Redbridge in collaboration with partner organisations.
- Work within the fidelity principles of IPS or SEQF and manage a small caseload of clients, providing holistic and personalised employment placement support.
- Engage with clients who have health, mental health, or disability needs to support their progression into meaningful employment or sustainable employment.
- Build positive rapport through motivational interviewing, effective communication, and attentive listening; be non-judgmental, trustworthy, and empathetic.
- Collaborate with co-located teams, Health, and Community & voluntary sector organisations to identify suitable residents and opportunities.
- Support economic well-being, address in-work poverty, and reduce reliance on public sector resources.
