Type: Permanent – Full Time – Office Based

Directly reporting to the Family Help Team 1 Manager. As part of the Family Help Teams, we have embedded a new model ensuring children and families in Redbridge receive a seamless service from the start of the child’s journey. By integrating Early Help, Community Social Work and Child Protection Assessment Teams, we offer early help, CIN and child protection support through a joined‑up, multi‑agency framework. The focus is on building trusting relationships and offering bespoke support at the earliest opportunity.

We are looking to recruit a qualified Practice Manager to manage and oversee the work of early help practitioners and lead the way in creating bespoke and innovative interventions that support families across the continuum of need in Family Help Team 1. You will manage a cohort of eight early help practitioners, provide quality supervision, case directions and support, oversee throughput, and link with social workers to provide a seamless service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and supervise a team of practitioners ensuring effective delivery of family support services.
  • Provide professional guidance and oversight to ensure best practices and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate service effectiveness, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee case management and ensure timely interventions for families in need.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture that fosters professional growth and development.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in managing and supervising teams within children’s services, family support or social care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding practices, early intervention strategies and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners and engage effectively with families.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities focused on delivering positive outcomes.
  • Relevant professional qualification in social work, family support or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
