The Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Social Worker in our Adult Community Mental Health and Wellness Teams. The Mental Health and Wellness Teams are a new development in line with national guidance, leading the transformation of adult community Mental Health Services in the borough.
The teams provide a range of specialist interventions within an integrated person-centred approach to adults who are residents of Redbridge, from first presentation to Secondary Mental Health Services, through to those with a diagnosis of a severe and enduring mental health condition with complex presentations including substance misuse and physical health concerns. The teams operate with a Recovery approach, a focus on Trauma-Informed Care, and use of the Open Dialogue model. There are further training opportunities in these areas, and services support service users throughout their journey with liaison with local NHS services, Social Care, and community statutory and voluntary services.
This post would be attractive to an experienced Mental Health Social Worker and Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) who is passionate about supporting mental health service users. It may also suit those seeking AMHP training in the near future. This is a full-time post, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with potential for flexible or part-time hours or job-share. The team currently operates a hybrid model across office and agile community working.
Responsibilities
- Provide social work assessments and interventions within an integrated multi-disciplinary team for adults with mental health needs.
- Engage in care planning, risk assessment, and crisis support in line with current policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with local NHS services, Social Care, and community statutory and voluntary services to ensure continuity of care.
- Contribute to the delivery of a Recovery-oriented, trauma-informed approach and participate in training opportunities in these areas.
Qualifications and Requirements
- CQSW/Diploma in Social Work or equivalent degree in social work.
- Registration as a social worker with Social Work England.
- Experience managing a complex caseload of mental health service users.
- Knowledge of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) with evidence of high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and interventions.
- Experience as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) or currently completing training is desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures and their application in Mental Health.
- Demonstrate understanding of current evidence-based practice in Mental Health.
- Desirable: AMHP training in the near future and familiarity with relevant mental health legislation, policies, and procedures.
