Permanent – Full Time. The Children with Disabilities service is an interesting and exciting team in which to practice social work. Working within this OFSTED rated outstanding service will allow you to experience every area of Children’s Social Work, including completing assessments, S47 enquiries, Child Protection Conferences, Court work, LAC processes, contextual safeguarding, residential placements cases, transition work and Children in Need cases which cover the full range of S17 needs. Location: Station Road, Barkingside.
Responsibilities
- You will complete direct work with children, support families with a disabled child, support siblings of disabled children, take requests to the Resource Allocation Panel, manage Child Protection and court cases.
- You will support disabled young people in their transition from Children’s Social Care to Adult Social Care.
- You will work closely with a variety of professionals including health, Occupational Therapy and Education.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Substantive experience of working with children, young people and their families.
- Excellent writing skills and confidence in representing the service at professional forums.
- Committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.
- Experience of completing assessments and developing SMART care plans for children, young people and their families.
- A proven track record of establishing positive and meaningful relationships with children, young people and their families as well as colleagues.
- Able to demonstrate personal and professional autonomy in relation to practice.
- Senior Social Worker will be able to deputise for the Team Manager where needed including quality assuring work completed by Social Workers.
