Position Overview

Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a dedicated Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to take the lead in shaping sustainable flood resilience for a growing urban borough. In this influential role, you’ll act as the Council's Lead Local Flood Authority expert, overseeing vital drainage systems, managing flood alleviation schemes, and ensuring robust responses to planning applications. You’ll work closely with a wide range of internal teams and external partners, from residents and developers to the Environment Agency and Thames Water, while managing a technical team and delivering both strategic and operational improvements. If you’re a qualified civil or drainage engineer ready to make a meaningful impact to reduce flood risk for local communities and make a positive impact on local infrastructure and climate resilience, we want to hear from you.
