These new opportunities will strengthen our capacity to meet increasing demand and deliver even greater impact across our communities.
We are looking for an Arboricultural and Horticultural Officer, who will play a key role in shaping the borough’s landscape, supporting the management of our tree stock, green spaces, and horticultural assets. You’ll work alongside a passionate team, contributing to contract management, emergency response, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do
- Managing arboricultural and horticultural services in line with council policies and industry standards.
- Conduct inspections, assess tree health and safety, and supervise contractors.
- Provide expert advice on vegetation management, insurance claims, and emergency situations.
- Support the development of work programmes and contribute to service improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 4 in Arboriculture or equivalent.
- Experience in urban arboricultural management and contract supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Commitment to sustainability, customer care, and continuous improvement.
Special Requirements
- Use of own vehicle for work.
- Flexibility to work outdoors in varying conditions and respond to emergencies.
- Familiar with basic Windows programmes.
