We are looking for an Arboricultural and Horticultural Officer, who will play a key role in shaping the borough’s landscape, supporting the management of our tree stock, green spaces, and horticultural assets. You’ll work alongside a passionate team, contributing to contract management, emergency response, and community engagement.

What You’ll Do

  • Managing arboricultural and horticultural services in line with council policies and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections, assess tree health and safety, and supervise contractors.
  • Provide expert advice on vegetation management, insurance claims, and emergency situations.
  • Support the development of work programmes and contribute to service improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 4 in Arboriculture or equivalent.
  • Experience in urban arboricultural management and contract supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Commitment to sustainability, customer care, and continuous improvement.

Special Requirements

  • Use of own vehicle for work.
  • Flexibility to work outdoors in varying conditions and respond to emergencies.
  • Familiar with basic Windows programmes.
