We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Unqualified Social Care Officer to join our Adults Social Care team.
About the Role
As an Unqualified Social Care Officer you will work with adults, carers and families in the community to deliver person‑centred, strength‑based assessments, support planning and reviews. You will manage an allocated caseload and support people to achieve outcomes that matter most to them. You will work with young people aged 18‑25 who are transitioning from Children and Young People’s Services (CYPs) into Adult Social Care. Experience working with young people with disabilities and/or mental health needs is essential. Understanding of SEND, education pathways and EHCPs is desirable. You will collaborate with social workers, occupational therapists, health colleagues and partner agencies to ensure services are safe, effective and responsive, while promoting independence, choice and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out high‑quality assessments, support planning and reviews.
- Deliver personalised services that promote independence, choice and positive risk‑taking.
- Maintain accurate, timely and proportionate case recording in line with statutory requirements.
- Provide information, advice and signposting to universal and preventative services.
- Work flexibly as part of a duty rota, including occasional evenings, weekends and public holidays.
About You
You must have experience working in adult social care and a strong commitment to person‑centred practice, equality and safeguarding. You will be organised, confident in managing a caseload, and able to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary environment. Strong communication, recording and ICT skills are essential.
