1 permanent vacancy. Newham has 6 sheltered housing schemes, managed by a small team of officers within the Independent Living service. The role supports older and vulnerable residents to live independently, ensuring highest standards are maintained. The position involves regular weekend work (at least twice per month) and may require working from any of the schemes and covering leave.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and assistance to enable older and vulnerable residents to live independently.
- Maintain up‑to‑date support plans and other relevant documents using computer‑based systems.
- Ensure the highest standards of care and compliance throughout the schemes.
- Cover weekend and leave requirements across all schemes.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a sheltered housing environment is desirable.
- Essential experience caring for vulnerable older people or those with long‑term conditions or disabilities.
- Strong communication skills with residents, staff and external agencies.
- Proficient use of relevant computer systems.
- Basic Adults DBS check.
