A fixed term contract (maternity cover) for the role of Pensions Administration Officer with a salary of £41,133 - £43,680 per annum.

About The Position:

As the Pensions Administration Officer, you will be responsible for the effective administration of all pension schemes operated by the London Borough of Newham. Any successful candidate will need to have:

  • A strong background in Pension administration, preferably schemes operated by the local authority (LGPS, NHS, Teachers).
  • A passion to work in collaboration, as the role will work with our third party administrators as well as the London Borough of Havering.
  • A passion to work to improve the service to our members and employers across both funds.

The role will include:

  • Working with the Pensions Contracts Manager, the Payroll Service and the third party pension provider.
  • Ensuring monthly Pensions and other statutory returns are completed.
  • Managing and supporting the funds' employers.
  • Resolving complex service queries.
  • Reconciling and managing pension payments to members.
  • Providing training to officers and employers.
  • Keeping an update on the latest legislative and regulations impacting the pension schemes (i.e. McCloud, Exit Cap and Monthly Contribution Reconciliation).

IMPORTANT: If you are an LBN member of staff and applying for this role as a secondment, you should note that secondments are subject to the agreement of your current employing service. Please ensure that you inform your line manager of your intention to apply for the post in the first instance.
