ABOUT THE JOB
Our NRPF Project Workers provide vital support to children and their families who have no recourse to public funds, and would be destitute without the support of the local authority. NRPF Project workers assess children and families to ensure they are safe, carrying out duties as necessary and ensure compliance with appropriate legislative framework as it applies to families subject to immigration control. Once children and families in need of support are identified, NRPF Project Workers work in partnership with other Council groups, external agencies and organisations and the voluntary sector, referring to services as necessary to support children and keep them safe. The team also work with and support those families who receive an intentionally homeless decision and are at risk of destitution. This is a case holding role and requires some families to be visited outside of the borough. The project workers are supported within the service by a qualified social work manager. There is a duty service in order to offer a proactive, flexible and responsive assessment and supportive approach to families who present to the service. This requires staff to be in the office on a rota basis.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for confident and efficient Project Officers who are passionate about their work and genuinely care about improving the lives of children and young people. You will have experience in holding a case load for families with No recourse to Public funds and intentionally homeless families. To demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different agencies and how they work together to safeguard children. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent telephone manner and the ability to draw and identify important information from conversations. You will have assessment and analytical skills and be prepared to visit children and families inside and outside the borough. You will be highly organised and be able to confidently prioritise work based on information received. You will be comfortable building strong working relationships with colleagues and partner organisations, understanding the importance of collaborative working in achieving the best outcomes for our children.
