Specialist Dyslexia Teacher Main payscale + TLR 2b+ 1 SEN or 2 SEN depending on experience and qualifications. We are a small team of advisory teachers enabling the inclusion of young people in mainstream schools through a traded offer. We offer advice and support to staff in mainstream schools ensuring they have the confidence and skills to support pupils with literacy difficulties by undertaking dyslexia assessments, exam assessment arrangements and bespoke intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake dyslexia assessments.
  • Arrange exam assessment support for pupils.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke intervention plans.
  • Deliver training on a range of interventions and whole‑school INSET.
  • Develop and provide the dyslexia pathway training and support.
  • Work in close partnership with other specialist teams in the borough and with health service partners.
  • Provide advisory support to staff in a diverse, multi‑cultural environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working across the full school age range.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs (SEN) and commitment to successful inclusion.
  • Excellent organisational skills and clear communication.
  • Experienced and skilled practitioner in dyslexia intervention.
  • Evidence of supporting colleagues and valuing teamwork.
  • Familiarity with working in a diverse, multi‑cultural environment.
