Private Sector Housing Regulatory Services Partnership - Serving Merton, Wandsworth and Richmond. The Regulatory Services Partnership, led by Merton Council, is seeking an experienced and motivated Private Sector Housing Officer to work across Wandsworth and Richmond. This unique cross-borough role offers the opportunity to gain experience in both an inner and outer London borough, working with a wide variety of housing conditions and residents.

About The Role

You will play a key role in improving housing standards and protecting the health and safety of residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Inspecting and assessing housing conditions using HHSRS
  • Identifying and enforcing remedial actions
  • Providing clear, practical advice to landlords and tenants
  • Assessing Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) for licensing
  • Taking enforcement action, including civil penalties, where legislation is breached
  • Managing a varied and fast-paced caseload with professionalism and empathy
