We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager with a passion for highways and sustainable transport. This role will lead on the management of Merton’s Highways and Sustainable Transport contracts, worth approximately £6 million annually, and drive strategic procurement for a major highways term service contract valued over £50 million.
Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Transport Highways and Climate, you will be a dynamic and motivated individual who has proven experience in highways contract management, ideally within a local authority or large public sector environment. You will be working as part of the team to oversee strategic procurements, including the mobilisation and implementation of new contracts.
You will have a strong knowledge of NEC4 or similar contract forms, highways maintenance, and public realm services and will have demonstrable experience of developing and implementing robust contract monitoring and performance reporting regimes. You should also be able to demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
You will hold a recognised professional qualification in Highways/Construction Management/Civil Engineering.
