Join our CCTV team and help keep Merton’s communities safe.
Working in the CCTV Control Room, you will monitor public spaces, support the Police and partner agencies, and help prevent and detect crime while ensuring compliance with data protection, human rights and surveillance legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV cameras and identify incidents requiring action.
- Liaise with Police, Council services and partner organisations.
- Retrieve and process CCTV footage in line with policies and legislation.
- Maintain accurate incident logs and records.
- Support performance reporting and service improvements.
- Provide witness statements and attend court when required.
- Assist with training, system monitoring and CCTV maintenance coordination.
About You
- Experience in a CCTV control room or similar monitoring environment.
- Strong observation, communication and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to remain focused and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and CCTV legislation.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, customer service and health & safety.
- Flexibility to work shifts.
