We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic RYA Senior Instructors to join the senior team at Wimbledon Park Watersports Centre. These roles require an adaptable approach with successful candidates working a flexible 35 contracted hours per week which will be higher or lower on a given week according to demand and will include some weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- RYA Senior Instructor (dinghy)
- Paddlesports Experience (either qualified instructor, experienced personal paddling or willingness to learn)
- Excellent communications skills
- Experience in coaching adults and children including those with additional needs
Desirable
- BCAB Paddlesports Instructor (or British Canoeing Instructor) or higher paddlesport qualification (e.g. BCAB Performance Coach)
- RYA Powerboat Instructor
- At least one year's experience working in a Recognised Training Centre (RTC) as an active Senior Instructor
- RYA Windsurf Instructor
- Racing/Advanced Instructor endorsements
You will have good technical knowledge of the RYA.
Duties Include
- Delivering high quality sessions across various activities. The majority of which will be taster paddlesport sessions, 5-day children's holiday courses and 2-day RYA sailing/powerboat courses.
- Supporting the WPWC senior team in managing and running the centre day-to-day.
- Assisting in maintaining the centre facilities and equipment.
- Supporting the development of staff and volunteers.
- To act as the instructor in charge (deputised by the management when offsite) and as a keyholder.
