Founded in 2011, the South London Legal Partnership (SLLP) is the in-house legal service for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and the London Boroughs of Merton, Richmond upon Thames, Sutton and Wandsworth. SLLP is committed to being a high performing in-house shared legal service which plays an essential part in the achievement of the priorities and objectives of our five local authorities for the benefit of their communities. The partnership has 150-160 staff and an annual turnover of £14 million. Over 1 million people are represented by the constituent councils we serve.
Having recently expanded our Housing Litigation Team, we are seeking to recruit a lawyer to join a vibrant, dedicated and highly skilled team, where every member is valued, supported and encouraged to be part of the team’s development and processes. This opportunity is suitable for qualified lawyers who have a background in and wish to broaden their experience in the field of housing civil litigation. We are looking for individuals who are real team players, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work to tight timescales.
You will be dealing with a wide range of matters acting for our Boroughs as both claimant and defendant in various matters including tenancy management enforcement, disrepair, homelessness, public law, and judicial review. A knowledge of local government legislation is desirable and/or can be developed.

- Collaborate within a vibrant, dedicated, and highly skilled Housing Litigation Team and contribute to the team’s development and processes.
- Work to tight timescales and demonstrate flexibility in a supportive, inclusive environment.
- Qualified lawyers who have a background in housing civil litigation or who wish to broaden their experience in this field.
- A knowledge of local government legislation is desirable and can be developed.
