Merton’s Family Support and Safeguarding Service are looking for Consultant Social Workers to join our long term Social Work teams for a rewarding role. Our vision is for our Borough to be a safe place for every child to grow up in and to give every child the best start in life. Our Children\'s Services have been judged Outstanding by Ofsted and we are continuing to move forward to keep improving our standards of practice and response to Children and Families. Merton’s Leaders are committed and focused on supporting our staff and families and keeping children and young people at the heart of our work.
You will work with families where there is a high level of need, you will be expected to support and mentor less experienced members of staff in the team, and act as practice educator for ASYEs. You will be able to be supported to undertake your PEPs training and supervise a student. The CSW is a key role to supporting practice and you will be invited to lead in a practice area of your choice in line with Merton\\\'s practice framework.
In Merton We Have a Blended Practice Model Which Combines Systemic Practice, Relationship Based Social Work And Signs Of Safety And Is Embedded Throughout All Of Our Work With Children And Families. There is also a well-established and connected multiagency partnership.

Responsibilities
- Lead in practice and support/mentor less experienced staff in the team
- Act as practice educator for ASYEs
- Support PEPs training and supervise a student
- Contribute to delivering high impact and quality safeguarding services to children and families
- Collaborate with partner agencies to achieve best outcomes for children and young people in need of support and services
Qualifications
- Qualified social worker, registered with Social Work England
- Relevant experience and knowledge in leading practice and enabling others to develop and deliver statutory safeguarding services
- Experience working with Children and families with complex needs
- Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve outcomes for children and families
