About the Team

Active Lambeth is the leisure service run by Lambeth Council and operates from 8 locations across the borough. There are four leisure centres with swimming pools, sports halls, an ice rink, outdoor sports facilities and standalone lifestyle and fitness centres, as well as Family Leisure Zones, Karaoke booths, Climbing Walls and treatment rooms. Active Lambeth offers a range of activities in its leisure centres and providing excellent customer service is integral to ensuring customers get the most out of the wide range of services on offer, ranging from booking a massage to enjoying karaoke or the multi-sport simulator.

About the Role

The Recreation Assistant is responsible for the cleaning, preparation and general safety of areas in a sport and recreation facility. In ‘wet side’ facilities they will have a key responsibility for the safety of customers in the swimming pool and its surrounding areas. In ‘dry side’ facilities there may be a greater emphasis on the setting up, taking down and storage of equipment. In both cases Recreation Assistants are the first point of contact with customers and will need strong communication and social skills.
