About the role
The Practitioner Manager leads the daytime social care service alongside the team manager, supervising up to eight staff, ensuring statutory assessments are timely, supporting social workers in complex cases, and driving service development. The role delivers high‑quality, strength‑based, person‑centred care to Lambeth residents.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daytime social care service.
- Supervise up to eight social care staff and assign statutory assessments promptly.
- Support social workers through complex cases, safeguarding procedures, court of protection, and authorisation of assessments.
- Take the lead on service development arising from service user requests and member enquiries.
- Deliver a quality, responsive, safe, and person‑centred service.
Qualifications and experience
- Qualified social worker with significant post‑qualifying experience.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills; familiar with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
- Previous management experience and mental health service experience preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with substance misuse team context is a plus.
