About the Team
The Back on Track NEET Service is Lambeth’s statutory participation service, supporting young people aged 16 to 18 (and up to 25 for those with an Education, Health and Care Plan) to access and sustain education, employment and training.
Working closely with schools, colleges, training providers, Youth Justice Services, SEND teams and a wide range of partners, the service plays a key role in reducing NEET and Not Known figures across the borough.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and ambitious team focused on improving outcomes for vulnerable young people. You will be part of a collaborative service that combines direct support to young people with strategic partnership working across Lambeth’s education and youth support landscape.
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Post 16 NEET ETE Advisor (YJS) to support young people known to the Youth Justice Service who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) or at risk of becoming NEET.
Reporting to the Back on Track NEET Service Manager and working in close partnership with Youth Justice Services, you will provide intensive information, advice, guidance and practical support to help young people access and sustain appropriate education, employment and training opportunities.
You will build strong relationships with young people, families, schools, colleges, training providers and youth justice professionals, helping to remove barriers to participation and improve long-term outcomes. The role also includes responsibility for maintaining accurate participation records, supporting statutory data returns and contributing to the council’s wider NEET reduction strategy.
Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information about the DBS can be found at www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-public-bodies/dbs.
You will be required to undertake a Cifas check.
