Reference: 2683. PO2: £44,937 pa rising in annual increments to £47,925 pa inc LW. 12‑month secondment opportunity/fixed‑term contract and full time.

About the Team

The Public Health Team has over 50 staff from a variety of disciplines. Two CDO roles are available: one focussing primarily on Sexual Health Commissioning and one on Substance Misuse Commissioning.

Programmes

As one of the roles you will work on the programme that best aligns with your preference and service need. The Sexual Health role involves commissioning sexual and reproductive health and HIV services, while the Substance Misuse role focuses on drug and alcohol treatment, recovery and prevention services across Lambeth and surrounding boroughs.

About the Roles

These roles are primarily focused on providing high quality commissioning, coordination and project coordination to commissioning teams within Public Health. You will support the day‑to‑day running of commissioning activity, ensuring processes are well organised, documentation is up to date and key work is progressed in a timely way. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including council colleagues, service providers and system partners, supporting communication, coordination and information sharing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating data, reports and commissioning documentation
  • Assisting with contract management processes, including monitoring returns and performance information
  • Coordinating communication with internal teams, providers and external partners
  • Supporting the collation of information for service reviews, needs assessments and strategy development, and presenting outcomes to stakeholders where appropriate

Qualifications & Skills

Prior experience or knowledge of sexual health, HIV, substance misuse or commissioning is not required, though desirable. Look for candidates with strong transferable skills such as organisational, project management, data management and relationship management. Attention to detail, the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment, confidence working with data, strong communication skills and a proactive, conscientious, initiative‑driven attitude are essential. Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, OneNote and Excel or be willing to develop this competence in the role.

Employment Details

These roles are fixed term for 12 months.
