The Private Sector Licensing and Enforcement team provides a frontline service to improve housing conditions within the private rented sector and bring properties up to standard. We support and advise private tenants, homeowners, and private landlords with the team working towards ensuring people renting privately live in decent houses and a place to call home.
The team is dynamic, forward-thinking and offers plenty of opportunities for development and growth.
The successful candidate will carry out Environmental Health functions to enable the Council to meet its statutory obligations, in respect of private sector housing licensing including inspection, enforcement, education and advice. The role requires effective interpersonal and communication skills and the postholder will act as an Authorised Officer of the Council in the performance of the statutory functions in accordance with the current scheme of delegation.
Successful candidates will be asked to apply for a Basic Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Further information about the DBS can be found at.
