Social Worker Children Social Care - Contextual Safeguarding / Risk Outside the Home Service

Permanent / Full Time / Hybrid Work - minimum 2 days a week in the office.

Salary: PO2/PO3: ÂŁ44,937 per annum, rising to ÂŁ51,228 per annum including Living Wage; ÂŁ1,000 Welcome Payment; ÂŁ1,000 per annum Market Supplement.

About the role

The Social Worker will be part of the Support Team, providing assessment, direct intervention and ongoing support to children and young people referred into Children’s Social Care where there is risk outside the home. The role requires strong case‑management skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, and a trauma‑informed, systemic approach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of need and produce dynamic plans aimed at reducing risk to young people.
  • Case‑hold children and young people and undertake direct work with them across the borough where there is risk outside the home.
  • Build trusted relationships with children and young people who are at risk of exploitation or serious violence.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders and partners to meet the needs of a diverse community.
  • Apply Contextual Safeguarding principles and maintain a trauma‑informed perspective in all practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified and experienced social worker with a passion for working in risk‑outside‑the‑home contexts.
  • Proven experience in engaging children and young people and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of Contextual Safeguarding and relevant statutory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective assessment reports and dynamic plans.
