This is an exciting opportunity to join the Traffic & Capital Delivery Team as a Traffic Data and Network Monitoring Officer. In this role you will primarily be responsible for monitoring traffic and other network management indicators, supporting the team in ensuring that the council’s statutory and non‑statutory duties as a Traffic and Highway Authority are effectively delivered. The role involves close liaison and coordination with stakeholders, including third parties, commissioning traffic surveys, supporting the administration of Traffic Management Orders, and carrying out general duties related to the scope of the role.
You will be working within the Traffic & Capital Delivery Team in the Network Management Section, which is responsible for the delivery of capital projects and the management of the road network across the borough.
We are looking for a ‘people person’ who is comfortable with numbers and able to communicate key messages effectively, comfortable using different IT systems and willing to learn new ones, customer‑focused, helpful, cooperative, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.
- Data collection, collation and interpretation, preferably within an engineering environment.
- Preparation of basic statistical reports and written summaries.
- Familiarity with quality assurance in data management.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team to support the day‑to‑day running of the service.
