About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Community Access Team as Team Leader. The Community Access Service (CAS) sits within Community Provisions in the Adult Social Care department and supports people with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions to lead full and purposeful lives. We are looking for a Team Leader who embraces change, is outcome focused and is committed to helping us shape our vision for our Residents in Hounslow. Previous experience of staff management or supervision is essential. As part of this role, you will be co-ordinating and developing a service that supports adults with disabilities to develop their independence by facilitating, delivering and developing a wide range of community-based activities, opportunities and project work. Overseeing the day-to-day function of the service ensuring the Community Access programme is responsive to residents' needs and maximises their access and integration into the community. You will apply the principles of personalisation and co-production in the delivery and development of the Community Access Service programme (projects, drop ins and sessions), maximising participation of residents in attendance whilst managing risk and capacity. These services are delivered during the day, evenings and weekends. We also deliver a range of online virtual sessions and support using Zoom.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
You will be supporting a team of 4 Community Support Workers to effectively undertake their roles through effective supervision, training, monitoring and development in accordance with the Council’s vision, policies, governance arrangements and values. You will oversee the day-to-day function of the service ensuring the Community Access programme is responsive to residents' needs and maximises their access and integration into the community. You will be responsible for overseeing the assessment and integration of new residents into the service. You will work in conjunction with the Community Provisions Manager in the implementation of local service Health and Safety Guidelines including producing and reviewing risk assessments for all service provision provided and ensuring staff are complying with Lone Working protocol and procedures. You will also work together in the promotion of the Community Access Service by developing effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, maximising referral levels and partnership working to create meaningful opportunities for Hounslow residents.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative individual who has excellent communication skills as well as strong organisational skills and a passion for making a difference! Taking a genuine interest in our Residents, you will be responsible for protecting their welfare and ensuring they are safeguarded from harm at all times. Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable residents in either a statutory or voluntary organisation to positive effect including undertaking risk assessments. Demonstrable and proven track record in developing rapport and building sustainable relationships with a range of providers and stakeholders. Have a clear understanding of the barriers people with disabilities face in relation to accessing community activities and public transport and have experience in implementing strategies, in line with the personalisation agenda and co-production approach. Experience of supportive leadership that motivates, empowers and inspires staff via supervision, development and staff recruitment. Proven track record in developing rapport and building sustainable relationships with a range of providers and stakeholders, exploring new opportunities and thinking outside the box attitude.
Qualifications:
- Relevant Health and Social Care or Leadership Management qualification.
- Maths/ English Grade C or above at GCSE.
