About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our inâhouse security team located at Hounslow House. We are looking for an experienced Security Manager to develop and implement a strategic service plan and to lead and support the security team in the delivery of effective and efficient security services, ensuring that the service meets the evolving needs of the business of the council. You will lead on the strategic planning of the dayâtoâday security service. The work includes the safe and secure use of Hounslow House for staff, partners, councillors, local residents and other visitors.
About The Team Youâll Be Working In
You will report directly to the Buildings Manager and be working with and supported by other members of the wider Facilities Management team who provide services to Hounslow House and other council sites. You will manage a security team consisting of two Lead Security Officers and ten Security Officers. The service provides cover 7 days a week (excluding Bank Holidays) between the hours of 0700-2300 hrs. The Security Managerâs main tasks are to oversee the delivery of the static security service in public areas, security control room services â including the operation of the CCTV services, access control, lift controls, fire and intruder alarm systems. You will develop the security team and ensure the renewal of SIA licences and refreshers for First Aid, Fire Marshal and Customer Service training. The Security Manager is also the site âIncident Coâordination Officerâ responsible for the incident management and response within Hounslow House. Hounslow House is the London Borough of Hounslow head office. The main public entrance area has meeting points for front line staff to meet with residents; this area is also used as an event space and has a coffee shop. The public library is located on the 1st floor. On the 6th floor there is a multiâfunction space for meetings and large events.
About You
You are an experienced people manager with a minimum of 3 yearsâ experience, in managing and developing a security service within a large organisation, including contributing to service reviews and the implementation of change. Your knowledge of best practice, dealing with challenging situations and team working will be second to none, and you value collaborative leadership. You know how to communicate well, written and verbally. Your ability to engage with complex issues and communicate these clearly and simply is one of your strengths. Experience of writing reports and completing audits e.g., GDPRA for CCTV privacy impact assessment and operational procedures. You are skilled in the use of ICT â using Word, Outlook and Excel, with the ability to transfer this knowledge to use the LBH inâhouse software and building management systems. You have experience of incident management and response, including the planning and delivery of statutory fire marshal training and performing evacuation drills.
