About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and supportive staff team at The Ride Children’s Home. In this role, you will work directly with vulnerable young people in a residential setting, playing a key role in their care and development. The position involves supervising young people, working different shifts, including early shifts and sleep-ins, as part of a professional and dedicated team. You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care, ensuring the safety, well-being, and progression of each young person. In return, you will receive ongoing support and opportunities for professional development, helping you grow and thrive within your role.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The Ride Children’s Home is a residential home for 12 – 18 year old young people. The home is licensed to accommodate up to six children with emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care, ensuring the safety, well-being, and progression of each young person. In return, you will receive ongoing support and opportunities for professional development, helping you grow and thrive within your role. You will report to the Deputy Manager who will line manage you.
About You
Person specification quality required for the role:
- Extensive experience working directly with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting, delivering targeted key work to develop individualized plans and assessments.
- Proven ability to write clear, concise, and analytical reports, communicating effectively and professionally with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Strong literacy and IT skills, proficient in maintaining accurate children’s records, report writing, and conducting staff supervision.
- Well-versed in adhering to internal policies and procedures while fulfilling statutory responsibilities.
- Ability to plan and coordinate fun and educational activities for the young people.
