Overview
You will lead safeguarding learning and development for Children’s Specialist Services, shaping interagency training and driving measurable improvements in outcomes for children and families. You’ll work with senior leaders and partner agencies to design innovative, evidence-based training aligned with current legislation and national best practice. This role sits within Safeguarding & Quality Assurance, delivering high-value training that supports a culture of continuous learning. The opportunity offers influence across the entire children’s workforce and a lasting impact on safeguarding outcomes in Hounslow.
Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning, coordination and evaluation of the interagency safeguarding training programme for Children's Specialist Services and partner agencies
- Identify learning and development needs across the workforce and ensure these are met through innovative, high-quality training solutions
- Deliver and commission safeguarding training that reflects current legislation, research, best practice and learning from reviews
- Support the management of the workforce development budget, ensuring value for money and effective use of resources
- Develop collaborative working across agencies and contribute to strategic workforce development priorities within the Hounslow Safeguarding Children's Partnership
- Provide expert advice, guidance and support on safeguarding training and workforce development to managers and practitioners
- Facilitate and deliver in-house training and coordinate specialist practice expertise across the service
- Grow your own strategy and workforce development initiatives to build talent within the borough
Key requirements
- Experience in social work practice, safeguarding, learning and development, workforce development or professional standards environments
- Ability to provide high-quality, reflective, evidence-based training to develop practice to the highest professional standards
- Ability to analyse information from performance data and audits and produce high-quality reports
- Experience managing resources within budgetary constraints and securing best value
