About The Role
Sandbanks Day Centre provides a day care service for adults with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and for older people living with the experience of Dementia. The service provides quality care to Hounslow residents and supports them to participate in meaningful activities which are tailored to meet their needs and wishes. The service empowers residents to meet their full potential, supports them to further develop their independence and ensures their dignity and safety.
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Care Worker to supervise a team of Care Workers and support them in the provision of person-centred care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Management team with the ongoing development and continuous improvement of day service provision.
- Supervise and support Care Workers to deliver quality care and support to our residents.
- Take the lead with the centre programme, ensuring a range of meaningful and therapeutic activities that are fit for purpose.
- Motivate and empower the staff team to provide a continuously high‐quality service that is safe and in line with the Adult Social Care vision.
- Maintain a person‐centred approach, providing more choice and control, empowering independence for residents.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in supporting and caring for vulnerable adults in a formal care setting.
- Hold an NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3.
- Demonstrable experience of providing supervision and direction to staff.
- Day services currently operate Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.
- Enhanced DBS.
About You
- Be a self‐starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to be creative with the day centre programme, proactive and innovative in working to achieve performance‐related targets, as well as inspiring others to achieve their goals.
- Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable residents in either a statutory or voluntary organisation, including an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable adults, managing Health and Safety, and risk assessments.
- Have a clear understanding of the barriers people with a Learning Disability, Autistic individuals and/or living with the experience of Dementia are faced with and have experience in implementing strategies, to meet their needs in a person‐centred way.
- Experience of leading, motivating and supervising a team to secure positive outcomes for vulnerable residents.
- Ability to understand and implement good practice and promote equal opportunities.
