About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Hounslow Youth Justice Service. We are looking to recruit an experienced Operational Manager to work collaboratively with a multi‑disciplinary team to improve outcomes for children, support victims, and build safer communities within Hounslow.
You will be joining an established management team and will be able to demonstrate an ability to motivate and support staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for children. This will include supervision, audits and quality assurance to steer practice.
In addition, you will use your understanding of the criminal justice setting to represent the Youth Justice Service at professional and multi‑agency meetings, including community safety fora, strategy meetings, reviews for children looked after, child protection conferences and core group meetings.

About the Team
The Youth Justice Service is a multi‑disciplinary team that includes social workers, probation officers, police officers, substance misuse workers and health professionals. The team works closely with a wide range of other professionals, including the courts, and sits within the wider Children’s Specialist and Safeguarding Department.
The team is based at Hounslow House, a modern office building in central Hounslow. There is an opportunity for office‑based and home working depending on the needs of the service. The team is committed to hearing the voices of the children and families we work with to develop and improve the service we offer.
About You
- Experience providing effective, timely management oversight of casework undertaken with children, young people and their families to ensure compliance with National Standards for children in the Youth Justice System.
- Ability to undertake effective staff management, including personal and reflective supervision to enable staff to deliver high‑quality interventions for children, young people and families.
- Familiarity with quality assurance assessments and plans for children and young people known to the Youth Justice Service; ensuring they are of a good standard, timely, inclusive of diversity and in line with inspection standards.
- Ensuring case records are maintained in line with National Standards and inspection standards, with record‑management oversight that guides work with children and families.
- Ability to review work undertaken with children and young people flexibly.
