We’re looking for an Independent Member to join our Audit and Governance Committee at Hounslow Council. This Committee plays a pivotal role in reviewing the effectiveness of the Council’s governance, financial and risk management arrangements. Your expertise will be vital in optimising the Committee’s effectiveness and in enabling the Council to provide assurance on the important work it does on behalf of the Borough.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of local government finance, experience of financial control and management, possibly with an audit background. The independent members will demonstrate an ability to establish good working relationships with councillors and officers, be objective and politically independent with an ability to analyse information.

We would particularly like to hear from Hounslow residents, but other applicants are welcome to apply. An annual allowance of £2,000 will be paid for the role. You will need to attend approximately four in person evening meetings per year and allow some preparation. There will also be training sessions offered.
