This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Traffic & Capital Delivery Team as an Assistant Officer – Road Network Monitoring. In this role, you will primarily support the monitoring of traffic data, liaise with Hounslow Highways to coordinate works on the borough’s roads, assist with the preparation and publication of Traffic Management Orders, and carry out general duties related to the scope of the role. This will include both office-based work and site visits, as required by the business.
You will be working within the Traffic & Capital Delivery Team in the Network Management Section. The team is responsible for delivering capital projects and managing the road network across the borough. The team works flexibly, and the appointed person may be assigned to support any section within the Traffic Team, depending on business needs.
A committed person who is comfortable with numbers and able to communicate key messages effectively. Comfortable using different types of IT, with an appetite to learn new systems and skills. A customer-focused approach, with a helpful and cooperative attitude. Flexible, with the ability to work effectively as part of the wider team.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support network management duties.
- Organising and managing road traffic data collection, collation, and interpretation.
- Familiarity with quality assurance in data management and contractors’ works.
- Flexibility and the ability to work as part of the wider Traffic Team to support the day-to-day running of the service.
