About The Role

This is an opportunity to shape the commercial future of one of London's most ambitious boroughs. As our Head of Commercial Venues and Partnerships – a new role that will build and embed a new team and ways of working – you'll lead the strategy that grows income across Hounslow's diverse portfolio of venues, events, advertising, sponsorship, filming and commercial partnerships. Working as part of the Communications, Culture and Engagement Division, you'll identify new opportunities, build high-value partnerships and develop compelling commercial propositions that generate sustainable revenue while delivering benefits for residents and businesses. You'll lead teams responsible for venue sales, event account management and contract management, while taking direct responsibility for advertising and sponsorship sales. You'll work with senior leaders, Members and external partners to position Hounslow as a destination for events, investment and commercial collaboration. This is far more than a sales leadership role. You'll influence pricing strategies, shape new products, negotiate strategic partnerships, use market intelligence to inform decisions and ensure commercial activity supports the Council's wider ambitions around place-making, culture, economic growth and social value. As a member of Hounslow's Leadership Group, you'll help shape organisational priorities, champion innovation and play an active role in the wider leadership of the Council. You will initially be responsible for increasing income generation through seven venues – Hounslow House, Boston Manor House, Hogarth’s House and four public halls; council publications and communications channels; corporate and community events, e.g. Community Awards, Films on the Green, Summer of Culture events and fireworks; filming and outdoor advertising. Over time it is anticipated that your portfolio of assets will increase. If you're motivated by building new income streams, creating lasting partnerships and leaving a visible legacy across a borough of almost 300,000 residents, this is an opportunity to make a genuine impact.

About You

You have a track record of developing commercial strategies that deliver significant income growth, ideally across venues, events, sponsorship, advertising, partnerships or destination marketing. You combine entrepreneurial thinking with commercial discipline, spotting new opportunities while making sound decisions based on data, customer insight and financial performance. You build trusted relationships quickly and are comfortable negotiating with senior stakeholders, commercial partners and investors to create long‑term value. You understand how to balance commercial ambition with governance, reputation and social value, and can operate confidently within a complex organisation. You inspire high‑performing teams, creating an environment where people are empowered to innovate, collaborate and achieve ambitious goals. You’re excited by the opportunity to shape the future of one of London's most diverse and dynamic boroughs, helping generate income that supports better services and stronger communities.

Don’t meet every single requirement? We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box. At Hounslow, we realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist. So, if you can do most of what we’re looking for, go ahead and apply. You may be just the right candidate for the job.
