About the role
Sandbanks Day Centre provides day‑care services for adults with autism, learning disabilities, physical disabilities and older people with dementia. The service offers quality care and supports residents in meaningful activities tailored to their needs, encouraging independence and dignity. The role involves supporting residents with daily care, promoting a joyful and interactive environment, and engaging in person‑centred activities. You will work with a supportive team and receive comprehensive induction, ongoing training, mentoring and supervision. Hours: 35 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
About the team you’ll be working in
You will work alongside other care workers, supervised by the Senior Care Worker, the Assistant Manager and the Service Manager. The team collaborates with nurses, the Positive Behaviour Support Team and social workers to deliver high‑quality care. You will help residents maintain dignity, independence and well‑being, and contribute to a positive, stimulating environment.
About you
Formal certificates or previous work experience in care are desirable but are secondary to a caring attitude and willingness to learn. Relevant skills or hobbies such as music, gardening, cooking or arts and crafts that you can share with residents are welcome. Interest in autism, learning disabilities, dementia and mental health is encouraged; you will receive induction, training, mentoring and supervision to develop the required knowledge and confidence.
