Our Benefits About The Role We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, to join the Transaction Processing and Controls Team, as a Finance Officer. Our team is busy and challenging; our work in turn supports colleagues across all the sectors of the Council. About The Team You’ll Be Working In Our team is responsible for reconciling all income and expenditure within the Council’s bank account and providing accountancy support and assistance. Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Officer, your role will be varied and include: Assist in the preparation of statutory and non-statutory returns, including VAT and CIS. Perform a wide range of corporate reconciliations, including cash and payroll. Prepare and reconcile data files interfaced to the ledger. Update and review changes to financial and cash management systems. Demonstrate good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills relevant to the role. Competent in the use of information technology, in particular word and excel based applications and financial systems. Knowledge and understanding of financial processing and management, operating systems and internal control mechanisms. Achieved or working towards an AAT level 3/4 qualification. Qualifications Achieved or working towards an AAT or equivalent qualification with relevant work experience.
