About The Role
Within the Housing Planning and Economic Regeneration Division of the Council resides the Property Compliance Team. The Asset Management team analyse and validate data. Working very closely with these teams, the Property Compliance Team (consisting of Building Safety, Landlordâs Compliance and Mechanical & Engineering teams) deliver the robust management of statutory compliance related activities (inspections, testing and certification).
Regulatory Compliance:
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Compliance Team which is seeking an Electrical Engineer. The successful candidate would be required to meet the below requirements:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all relevant electrical regulations, standards (e.g., BS7671, NICEIC), and company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of electrical installations, systems, and equipment to identify and address non-compliance.
- Manage and verify the accuracy and validity of electrical certifications issued by engineers and subcontractors.
- Oversee and monitor the work of electrical contractors to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, inspections, certifications, and training.
- Identify and assess electrical safety risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues, ensuring that preventative measures are in place to avoid future occurrences.
- Communicate compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders, including residents, employees, contractors, and management.
- Work alongside and assist the Mechanical Engineer and, where necessary, temporarily act on their behalf and undertake some of their activities, in their absence to ensure the continuity of the day-to-day business operations.
- Keep up to date with changes in electrical regulations, standards, and best practices.
About The Team Youâll Be Working In
This team ensures all regulatory and legislative responsibilities for, and not limited to, gas safety, electrical safety, the management of asbestos containing material, fire safety, water hygiene and legionella prevention and that other associated mechanical and electrical services are adequately checked for quality standards. This team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to focus on improving and ensuring compliance is achieved across all areas.
About You
