Sandbanks Day Centre provides high quality care and support for vulnerable residents who have been assessed as requiring a building-based day provision.
Our aim is to make a positive and meaningful difference to the residents attending our day provision by providing a programme that meets needs and is innovative and individualised in its delivery.
We are looking for a Day Centre Manager who is a compassionate and innovative leader, who embraces high quality personalised care and is committed to helping us develop and deliver our vision.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

As the Day Centre Manager your key objectives will be to:

  • Lead the service and empower the team to achieve the highest standards of care, support, and safeguarding.
  • Drive the ongoing development and continuous improvement of the day service.
  • Mentor and support staff to deliver high quality, person-centred care aligned with the Adult Social Care vision.
  • Develop and implement innovative, evidence based approaches that achieve positive outcomes, championing a programme of meaningful and therapeutic activities that meet diverse needs and promote independence.
  • Ensure the service remains safe, innovative, and compliant with all regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with residents, families, professionals and partners to positive effect.
  • Lead by example in promoting inclusion and professional excellence.

Essential For The Role

  • Demonstrable management experience within a health or social care setting
  • Relevant Health and Social Care/ management/ leadership qualification
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development

Day services currently operate Monday to Friday, with the management team working shifts between 8:00am to 5:30pm.

  • Demonstrable management experience within a Health or Social Care setting, with the ability to provide proactive, visible, and supportive leadership.
  • Able to empower and motivate staff to consistently deliver high standards of care and support.
  • Experience Working with Vulnerable Residents
  • Proven track record of working sensitively and effectively with vulnerable individuals.
  • Ability to secure positive outcomes that respect cultural diversity and empower residents’ individual needs.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and practice, applying these effectively to protect adults at risk, ensuring safety, dignity, and compliance.
  • Quality Assurance and Health & Safety Competence
  • Experience in quality assurance processes and Health and Safety management, including conducting risk assessments, medication, manual handling, and overseeing personal care standards.
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing with a range of partners and stakeholders.
  • Skilled in assessments, reviews, care planning, and managing HR-related matters.
  • Strong Organisational and IT Skills
  • Ability to plan, organise, and prioritise own workload effectively, meeting deadlines and working with minimal supervision.
  • Competent in managing service resources cost-effectively and delivering personalised care
  • Proficient in IT, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
