About The Role
Would you like to make a difference to outcomes for children in Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs?
Would you like flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home?
We’re looking for organised, professional individuals to join our Governor Services team, providing clerking services to school governing boards. This includes planning meetings, minute taking, maintaining records, and offering procedural and legal advice.
This is a remote, term-time only role, with attendance required at school meetings—mostly in the evenings and occasionally in the mornings.
Previous clerking experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain a Level 3 Certificate in Clerking of School and Governing Boards through the NGA development programme.
About The Team You’ll Be Working In
The Governor Services team plays an important role in supporting school governing boards across Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs. Its core purpose is to provide essential support and professional advice, helping governing boards meet their statutory responsibilities, carry out their strategic functions effectively, and maintain high standards of governance. The team offers a range of services including clerking, training and development, guidance on legal and procedural matters, and support with governor recruitment and appointments.
This work has a direct impact on the quality of education and leadership within schools, which in turn benefits children, their families, and the wider community.
The team sits within Standards, Practice and Partnerships and includes the Lead for Governance, Governor Services Officer, CPD Officer and a team of clerks. The successful candidate will report to the Lead for Governance and work closely with colleagues across the team.
