About The Role

The Parking Infrastructure team within the Traffic, Transport & Parking department of the London Borough of Hounslow seeks to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible individual who can meet the challenge of providing clean car parks to the London Borough of Hounslow. The primary function of the role is to clean the car parks that are operated by the London Borough of Hounslow, including using a small mechanical sweeping vehicle.

The role involves early starts and working on Saturday on a rota basis, for which a day off will be given during the week. The applicant must have a full clean driving licence with no prosecutions pending.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

Reporting to the Parking Infrastructure Manager, the Car Park Support Officers will ensure that the car park surface area is free of litter and rubbish. This will entail using a motorised cleaning vehicle or hand-held device.

The team also empty the car park litter bins and clear any “fly-tips” and dispose of collected rubbish to the appropriate site, providing a clean and tidy environment for residents and visitors to the Borough.

Additionally, the team carry out vegetation cut-back in accordance with the schedule outlined by the Infrastructure Manager.

About You

  • Able to drive a “Transit” sized vehicle towing a trailer.
  • Able to manually handle heavy items. Where necessary and with assistance and appropriate equipment this may include loads weighing up to 50kg.
  • Ability to competently handle a variety of common tools, both powered and on-powered used in the cutting of vegetation within the car parks.
